It was just another morning for me. I was on the way to my office in an autorickshaw, listening to songs from my usual playlist. This had always been the most boring part of my day. I felt an absolute absence of companions. All I could see around me was the rude Autorickshawala and the dead slow Bangalore traffic. But that day I could see a little more. A middle aged uncle on a Bajaj scooter carrying a lunch box and eagerly waiting for the signal to go green. A young lady carrying a small baby on her side and hurrying from one side of the road to another. Two school girls on the pavement, chatting and heading towards an eventful day. A young professional sitting on the driving seat of a silver sedan, blushing over a mobile conversation. A male wearing a black wrangler helmet riding a 180cc Black Pulsar, saying something funny to the female sitting on the backseat. There was an entire world around me. And not just that day. Everyday, while I had been waiting for my lonely and boring journey to get over, there was so much beauty, so much love around me. During those rush hours, I could have observed a new life, a new character,, a new situation in almost every blink. I could have had the best time of my day surrounded by so many people, beautiful in their own ways.
That day onwards, I played a secret little game on the way to my office; blinked my eyes, captured a new picture, felt the beauty in that and kept repeating it. And my boredom turned into a continuous joy :)
Reminds me of a famous dialogue from American Beauty
:"I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me. But it's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it. And then it flows through me, like rain. And I can't feel anything but gratitude."
